Harmful effects of anthracnose on lilies:
Anthracnose is also known as brown scale disease and black scale disease. On infected leaves, the lesions are nearly oval and elongated, yellow-brown, slightly sunken, and in severe cases can cause stems and leaves to die.
When scales are infected, light brown spots first appear, later turning light black-brown and slightly sunken, causing flower buds to abort and become brown to black.
When flowers are infected, small water-soaked round spots appear on the petals and merge into irregular brown patches.

 Control methods for lily anthracnose:

(1) Seedlings and bulbs must be strictly inspected to prevent the disease from spreading and expanding.

(2) Avoid continuous cropping. When continuous cropping is necessary, disinfect the soil before planting.

(3) Strengthen management, avoid excessive watering, promptly pull out diseased plants, and create good ventilation and light conditions.

(4) Before planting, soaking diseased bulbs in a 1000-fold dilution of 50% benomyl wettable powder for 20 minutes is effective. In the early stage of the disease, a 1000-fold dilution of 50% Shibagong or Shibaike wettable powder can also be sprayed.

Note: During storage, bulbs can also continue to develop the disease. Bulbs that are damp, frozen, or injured are prone to the disease.
