Why is it emphasized that paddy fields should be given more organic fertilizer?

When rice paddies are planted year after year, large amounts of the three major elements nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and a certain amount of calcium, magnesium, sulfur, iron and other elements, must continually be taken from the soil every year, and small amounts of trace elements such as chlorine, zinc, manganese, boron, copper and molybdenum must also be absorbed. In addition, the silicon absorbed by rice is about 10 times that of chlorine. With so many kinds of nutrients being absorbed, and some also lost through leaching, relying only on inorganic fertilizers to replenish them is far from enough to meet the needs of rice production. Therefore, organic fertilizers and inorganic fertilizers must be applied in combination.
Applying organic fertilizer not only directly provides rice with a rich variety of nutrients, but also, during the process in which soil microorganisms decompose organic matter, causes part of the organic matter to undergo humification, synthesizing soil humus. This plays a major role in improving the physical properties and structure of the soil, increasing the quantity and quality of soil colloids, and enhancing the soil's ability to retain and supply fertilizer. In addition, during the decomposition of organic matter, part of the slowly available phosphorus and potassium in paddy soil can also be activated, and various physiologically active substances that promote rice growth, such as vitamin B and auxin, are produced.
