Water soaking method Take a cup, soak an organic fertilizer sample in water, then use your hand to crush the organic fertilizer soaked in the water, stir it a bit and you can intuitively see the raw materials of the organic fertilizer; then let it sit for a while, if the organic fertilizer and water separate within a short time, it means the organic fertilizer has a high specific gravity and contains more soil.

Smell method Carefully smell the fertilizer to see whether it has an ammonia smell, a manure smell or a sludge smell; good organic fertilizer should have a thoroughly decomposed smell.

Hand rubbing method Take the organic fertilizer and rub it back and forth between your thumb and index finger; if it feels gritty, then there is sand or other impurities in it.

Microbial strain test method Take a cup and put the organic fertilizer in it, sprinkle a little water (be careful not to soak it, just moisten it), place it in a warm and suitable place; good organic fertilizer will clump together and grow white mycelium, and if you break open the organic fertilizer granules you will see white mycelium inside as well.

Potted plant test method Take a potted flower, grab a big handful of organic fertilizer and scatter it directly at the root and stem base of the flower, then water it; good organic fertilizer will gradually grow white mycelium and promote plant growth, while substandard organic fertilizer will burn the seedlings, and the plant will gradually wilt until it dies.

Comparative trial method After choosing a good organic fertilizer, when planting crops, leave a portion without applying that organic fertilizer and observe the performance of the plants; good organic fertilizer will show obvious effects in growth, yield and quality.

Check whether the packaging is standard and whether it is licensed production (generally licensed production means they do not have their own factory and have no source of raw materials)

Try not to buy products with foreign-language packaging, because organic fertilizer is all about reusing waste, and foreign imports are almost impossible.
