When eating peaches, we all know that the surface of a peach has a layer of fuzz. It cannot be eaten, but this fuzz is also very hard to wash off, so what should be done? Later, a new variety of peach appeared on the market, and that is the nectarine. Do you know that some regions in China grow nectarines? Is the nectarine a fruit developed through grafting? What tree is it grafted from? Let us learn about it together below.

At present in China, at least three nectarine varieties have been promoted to more than 20 provinces, cities and autonomous regions nationwide, except Taiwan, China, Tibet, Hainan and Guangdong. Ordinary regions can all cultivate nectarines, mainly because nectarines do not have very high requirements for growing conditions. Early nectarine varieties in China were mostly introduced from Europe and the United States and tasted rather sour. Because they did not quite suit the consumption habits of Eastern people, their impact in production was limited, and they also left people with the impression that “nectarines are sour”. However, nectarines have high nutritional value, are rich in vitamins, and have very high edible value.

The nectarine is a variety produced by grafting. Nectarines are grafted from ordinary peaches and plum trees. Nectarines on the market are generally obtained by using a plum tree as the rootstock and peach branches as the scion, then carrying out grafting treatment. They are generally called peach-plum smooth.
