How to identify inferior compound fertilizer? Please advise on methods
Identification of fake and inferior compound fertilizer can be done from the following points:
Label identification method
The state has strict regulations on the labeling on compound fertilizer packaging bags: (1) It must be marked with the product name, trademark, nutrient content, production license number, standard number, net weight, factory name, factory address and telephone number, etc. (2) It must and can only indicate the content of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium and the total nutrient content. For example: a compound fertilizer with 15 each of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium is expressed as 15-15-15, with a total content of ≥45%. (3) The content of non-standard trace elements must never be counted into the total content. If, after inspection, the labeling does not conform to the above regulations, it may be that the product quality is problematic and the labeling is intentionally misleading, short-weighing or deceiving consumers.
Feel by hand
Qualified compound fertilizer is generally made by high-temperature dissolution, granulation and then drying, with good stability and high hardness, and cannot be crushed by hand. Inferior compound fertilizer, however, has poor hardness and crumbles or breaks apart when squeezed by hand.
Visual inspection method
Qualified compound fertilizer is made into granules through a complex process, with uniform granule size and relatively consistent color. Inferior compound fertilizer, however, is often not deeply processed, being roughly made or simply mixed, with mixed colors and uneven granule size; some is even not granulated and is in powder form. Powdered compound fertilizer is explicitly banned from sale by the state.
Three-certificate identification method
The three certificates refer to the production license, the fertilizer registration certificate and the product quality certificate. Qualified compound fertilizer products have all three certificates; if any one is missing, the product quality may be problematic, and farmers should not buy it easily.
