Master seven feeding methods for fish feed to improve fish farming efficiency

Fish feed is one of the biggest costs in fish farming. Using scientific feeding methods not only benefits the healthy growth and rapid weight gain of fish, but also saves feed, reduces fish farming costs, and effectively improves fish farming efficiency. There are seven types of fish feed, and their feeding methods require great attention:
1. Pelleted feed. The diameter of fish pelleted feed is usually 2.5-8 mm and the length is 5-10 mm, and it can be directly scattered into the fish pond for feeding. Check it before feeding. If the feed has become damp, do not feed it directly; first dry it in the air or in the sun, and then feed it. If the feed has deteriorated, it should not be fed again to prevent fish poisoning after eating it.
2. Cake-type feed. For feeding small fish, cake-type feed should be crushed, soaked, and ground into slurry before feeding; for feeding medium and large fish, it is enough to soak it until soft.
3. Grain feed. Large-particle grains such as corn should be crushed before feeding to fish; small-particle grains such as paddy grains can be sprouted and then fed to fish. Young grain white sprouts have high nutritional value, and fish can digest them easily, absorb them quickly, and gain weight quickly.
4. Green feed. For feeding medium and large fish, green feed is generally freed of soil and then fed directly; for feeding small fish, it should be chopped or pulped, then mixed with 0.2% salt and sprinkled for feeding. After chopping green feed and cooking it, mixing in an appropriate amount of bran and soda makes small fish more willing to eat it.
5. Distillers' grains and bran feed. For feeding small fish, soak distillers' grains and bran feed until soft and grind into slurry; for feeding medium and large fish, it is better to ferment it until it has a wine aroma before feeding. At the beginning, feed a small amount first, then gradually increase the amount, but it should not exceed 30% of the total daily feed amount.
6. Protein feed. Earthworms, maggots, insects, and so on are all high-grade animal protein feed for fish. They can be fed directly, or dried in the sun and processed into powder to be mixed with other feed for feeding fish. For block-shaped animal feed, it should be chopped and ground fine, then mixed with a binder and made into small balls for feeding.
7. Manure feed. Chicken manure, pig manure, cow manure, and so on are all good feed for fish. Dry the manure in the sun and grind it into powder, then mix it with other feed in a certain proportion for use. The proportion used should not be too high; generally, chicken manure at 40%-50%, cow manure at 50%-70%, and pig manure at 30%-50% is suitable.
