What are the precautions for foliar fertilization of crops?
What should be noted in foliar fertilization of crops? Please give some guidance. Compared with soil fertilization, foliar fertilization techniques have advantages such as rapid conversion, high fertilizer utilization rate, and promoting root absorption of nutrients. Foliar fertilizers can be broadly divided into major element fertilizers, micronutrient fertilizers, organic fertilizers, microbial fertilizers, or photosynthesis enhancers or pesticide foliar fertilizers, and so on.

Commonly used in production are urea, potassium sulfate, superphosphate, ammonium nitrate, light micronutrient fertilizers, and many others.
Attention should be paid to the following points in foliar fertilization:
1. It should be carried out on the basis of applying sufficient base fertilizer and timely topdressing;
2. According to the vegetable variety, growth and development stage, growth vigor, and fertilization goal, select the appropriate foliar fertilizer variety;
3. The concentration of liquid fertilizer should be reasonable;
4. Choose dusk or cloudy days for spraying;
5. Pay special attention to evenly spraying the vigorously growing leaves and the underside of the leaves. For example, for greenhouse cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, celery, Chinese chives, and many other vegetables, a solid multi-element compound foliar fertilizer with added disease-prevention and treatment agents, low price, good quality, and obvious yield-increasing effect can be selected for spraying; for greenhouse cucumbers in the fruiting stage, spraying a sugar-nitrogen solution of 0.2% urea plus 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate plus 1% sucrose can not only increase yield and resist disease, but also reduce the damage of downy mildew; applying micronutrient fertilizers and light absorption inhibitors to tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, kidney beans, celery, Chinese cabbage, cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, etc. all have very good effects.
