Buy good fry, and only then will profits be high

When fishermen talk about their production situation and returns, they sometimes say that the "water flowers" they bought last year were a big rip-off, and that a poor foundation of fingerlings directly affected their harvest. What this means is that when buying fry, because they were not careful or thorough, they suffered a loss and were cheated. So are there any measures to prevent this kind of loss and deception? The editor has summed up some of the fishermen's long-standing "folk experience" for preventing this kind of loss and deception, which roughly comes down to the "five looks."

Fry

First, look at body color.Good fry have the same pigmentation across the group and a fresh, tender body color; poor fry have uneven pigmentation across the group and a slightly white body color.

Second, look at group composition.Good fry are uniform in size, plump in body, smooth and not muddy, and swim actively; poor fry are smaller in body type, uneven in size, and muddy on their bodies.

Third, look at activity ability. You can insert your hand or a wooden stick into the middle of a fry bowl or fry tray to startle the fry; those that quickly dart in all directions are good fry; those that react sluggishly are poor fry.

Fourth, look at upstream swimming.Use your hand or a wooden stick to stir the water body where the fry are, creating a whirlpool in the water. Those that can swim upstream along the edge are good fry; those that struggle weakly and get caught in the whirlpool are poor fry. You can also scoop the fry into a basin and let the wind move the water surface; good fry can swim against the wind; poor fry cannot.

Fifth, look at struggling in flowing water.Scoop the fry into a tray and pour out the water. At this time, good fry bend their heads and tails into a circular shape and struggle strongly; poor fry struggle weakly, with only their heads and tails trembling.
