What are the precautions for raising fish in spring? Farmers need to master them

Which matters in spring fish farming are worth farmers' attention

Spring is the season for stocking fish fingerlings. To achieve high fish yields and good economic returns, farmers need to pay attention to the following five matters:

Fish

    1. Pay attention to stocking fingerlings early

For ponds used for raising adult fish, if autumn stocking was not carried out, then after the beginning of spring, when the water temperature reaches 7-8°C, the fish fry should be put in as early as possible, so that the fish can adapt to the environment early and grow early. Before stocking fingerlings, the pond must be strictly disinfected.

    2. Pay attention to water quality regulation

Change the water early and add water frequently. After a relatively long overwintering period, pond water quality is prone to aging or becoming slightly acidic. Attention should be paid to changing the water early so that the fish grow in an environment with fresh water quality, which is beneficial to growth and can reduce the occurrence of some diseases. Generally, after changing the water, the water level can be maintained at about 0.8 m, which helps raise the water temperature, maintain a relatively high water temperature, and promote fish growth. Later, as the water temperature rises, gradually deepen the water level to prevent water quality from deteriorating.

    3. Pay attention to starting feeding early

In order for the fish to recover their constitution early and grow early, attention should be paid to feeding the fish early so that they start eating early.

    4. Pay attention to timely fertilization

After changing the water at the beginning of spring, fertilizer should be applied in a timely manner according to water quality conditions to enrich the water early. This not only allows fish that feed on water fertility in the pond to have a sufficient bait supply, enabling them to feed early and grow early, but fertilization can also help increase the water temperature and accelerate fish growth. The specific amount of fertilizer applied can be flexibly controlled according to whether the water quality is rich or lean.

    5. Pay attention to disease prevention and control

After the beginning of spring, the water temperature is low and the fish are in poor condition. With improper management, fish are prone to illness, so attention should be paid to preventing disease early.
