The laying rate of a flock directly affects the income of poultry farmers, so farmers are always looking for ways to maintain a high laying rate in their flocks. Today, we introduce five measures to increase the laying rate of your flock.

Flock

    1. Provide the flock with feed that is complete in nutrition. To fully tap the laying potential of the flock, you must provide a daily ration that is nutritionally complete, balanced and stable. If the nutrients in the feed are incomplete or the levels of nutrient elements are unbalanced, it will not only increase feed consumption but also affect the production performance of the laying hens, and may even lead to disease.

    2. Choose to raise excellent chicken breeds.Excellent chicken breeds also have relatively high production performance, which is the key to a high egg output from the flock. You should choose to raise pure hybrid laying hens that have been tested in practice and are indeed high-yielding, such as Lohmann, ISA and Hy-Line.

    3. Maintain a healthy, disease-free flock.Once chickens contract a disease, their laying rate is bound to drop, so disease prevention and control in the flock must be carried out diligently. Conduct regular antibody monitoring and immunization for the chickens; promptly isolate and treat chickens that become ill.

    4. Provide the chickens with a suitable laying environment. The quality of environmental conditions affects the laying rate of the flock, so you should do your best to create a suitable living and laying environment for the flock. In summer, the temperature in the chicken house must not exceed 28°C, and in winter it must not fall below 5°C. Keep it warm in winter and cool in summer, with good ventilation.

    5. Raise healthy, qualified laying hens. The quality of the laying hens directly affects the production performance of the flock during the laying period, so you must effectively strengthen the rearing of the laying hens so that the individuals are healthy, their body weight meets the standard, and their uniformity is good.

If you are still troubled by the laying rate of your own flock, you might as well try the measures described above.
