Grass carp eat a large amount of grass; how to feed grass carp with grass

Grass carp eat grass; juvenile grass carp start eating grass at a body length of 5 cm, and for grass carp over half a jin, each fish can eat 125-180 grams of grass per day. Therefore, when feeding grass carp with grass, the following techniques should be mastered:

Grass carp

    1. Feed more fresh, tender grass that is rich in nutrients, low in cellulose, and easy to digest.Fresh, tender grass can make grass carp grow fast and get sick less, and it can also reduce the feeding amount, lower farming costs, and improve economic returns. For the grass, choose young, tender long-leaf grasses with parallel veins, such as ryegrass, Sudan grass, and other forage grasses and wild tender long-leaf grasses; grass carp do not like round-leaf grasses with netted veins. At ordinary times, also observe how the grass carp are eating, and feed more of the grass types that grass carp like to eat to meet the needs of grass carp growth; do not feed, or feed as little as possible, the grass types that grass carp dislike eating.

    2. Reduce the feeding amount of aquatic water grasses.15 kg of terrestrial water grass can make grass carp gain 1 kg of meat, while eating 60-80 kg of aquatic water grass is needed to gain 1 kg of meat. Therefore, when terrestrial water grass is sufficient, feed less or do not feed aquatic water grass.

    3. Feed different grasses according to the size of the grass carp's mouth.Young fish have small mouths and cannot be fed coarse, hard grass; they should be fed grasses such as cyperus grass and small duckweed, or chopped pieces of fresh, tender long-leaf grass. Later, as the grass carp's age increases, the mouth gradually becomes larger, and they can transition to being fed conventional fresh, tender grass.

    4. Use proper feeding methods. When feeding grass to grass carp, feed at fixed times, in sufficient amounts, and evenly every day, and strive to scatter the grass so the fish can eat their fill, eat well, and eat evenly, so as to improve the farming effect. Adjust the grass feeding amount according to the weather, water quality, grass carp activity, and other conditions. Grass that has been stored too long and has become moldy and spoiled must never be fed, so as to avoid grass carp becoming infected with diseases.
