As foliar fertilizer products gradually increase in number, more and more farmers are using foliar fertilizer. Zhongdiwang has compiled five methods to improve the effectiveness of foliar fertilizer, listed below for netizens' reference.

Method 1: Prepare the optimal concentration of foliar fertilizer:
When spraying foliar fertilizer, maintaining the optimal concentration can achieve twice the result with half the effort. If the concentration is too high, fertilizer burn or toxicity symptoms are likely to occur; if the concentration is too low, the purpose of fertilization cannot be achieved. The optimal concentrations of commonly used fertilizers are: urea 0.5 to 1 percent, diammonium phosphate 0.2 to 1 percent, calcium chloride 0.3 to 0.5 percent, zinc sulfate 0.05 to 0.2 percent.

Method 2: Choose the optimal period for spraying:
Generally, the seedling stage, early flowering stage, or middle and late stages of vegetables, which are key periods for fertilizer demand, are the optimal periods for spraying foliar fertilizer. Spraying on cloudy days or in the morning and evening of sunny days gives better results. Spraying under strong sunlight should be avoided, and after rain, it should be replenished promptly.

Method 3: Master the optimal spraying amount:
Spray 50 to 60 kg of fertilizer solution per mu. When applying, try to increase the atomization degree of the sprayer as much as possible, spray the whole plant, and do not miss the young leaves or the undersides of the leaf surfaces. Generally, it is appropriate to spray vegetables 2 to 4 times throughout the entire growth period.

Method 4: Choose the optimal spraying site:
The effectiveness of foliar topdressing is related to the speed at which the sprayed elements move within the plant body. Elements with relatively strong mobility include nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and others; elements that can all move but are not highly mobile include phosphorus, sulfur, and others; partially mobile elements include iron, copper, manganese, molybdenum, and others. Fertilizer solutions of elements that cannot move or have low mobility have better results when sprayed on new leaves.

Method 5: Reasonably mix pesticides and fertilizers for spraying:
Mixing various foliar fertilizers for spraying, or mixing fertilizers and pesticides for spraying, can achieve the effect of one spraying serving multiple purposes, but when mixing for spraying, the properties of the fertilizers and the properties of the pesticides should first be clarified. If their properties are opposite, they must never be mixed for spraying. When preparing a mixed solution, it must be stirred evenly and used immediately after preparation. Generally, first prepare one fertilizer into an aqueous solution, then directly add the other fertilizers according to the dosage into the prepared fertilizer solution, shake the solution evenly, and then spray.
