How to effectively control the spread of infectious diseases in meat pigeons, which causes great losses?

Meat pigeons
I. Rational layout of the pigeon farm
Build the meat pigeon breeding farm on high, dry terrain with convenient drainage, abundant water sources and good water quality, in a quiet area far from schools and major traffic routes; the pigeon farm should especially be far from other poultry farms, slaughterhouses and livestock and poultry product processing plants, and there should be a certain distance between the brooding house, growing house and feed mixing room for meat pigeons, so that once a disease outbreak occurs, isolation is easier and mutual infection can be prevented.
II. Ensure good feed and drinking water
Feed and drinking water are the material basis and guarantee for raising meat pigeons. If feed hygiene and drinking water disinfection are neglected during rearing, both feed and drinking water can become sources of pathogenic bacteria infection. Do not feed moldy, spoiled or heavily contaminated feed; keep drinking water clean and free of pathogenic bacteria, regularly monitor the water quality of the pigeon farm, and regularly add sodium hypochlorite, Baidusha, Shaduwang, etc. to the drinking water in proportion for disinfection, so as to ensure the safety of drinking water and feed.
III. Do a good job of environmental sanitation
Good environmental conditions are a necessary condition and guarantee for successful meat pigeon breeding, while poor environmental conditions can trigger many kinds of diseases. The temperature in the pigeon house should be 27-32°C and the humidity 50-60%; keep the pigeon house, pigeon cages, egg nests, feed troughs, water troughs and floor clean, and disinfect regularly, at least once a week; do not leave moldy or spoiled feed in the feed troughs. Regularly eliminate rodents and insects; pay attention to ventilation to prevent harmful gases from accumulating in the pigeon house, promptly remove manure and clear weeds and garbage around the pigeon house to eliminate pathogenic bacteria. Staff should change clothes and shoes and wash their hands before entering the pigeon house, and it is best to use ultraviolet disinfection to control and eliminate pathogenic bacteria and ensure the safety of meat pigeon breeding.
