The slaughter rate of fattening pigs determines the profitability of pig farming, how can it be improved?

Piglets
1. Utilize hybrid vigor. The daily weight gain of two-way crossbred piglets can be 15-20% higher than that of purebred pigs, and three-way crossbred pigs are about 25% higher than purebred pigs.
2. Supplement iron early. After birth, piglets need to intake 7 mg of iron per day, while they can only obtain 1 mg from breast milk. If piglets are given an intramuscular injection of 1 ml of blood iron extract, the effect is relatively good.
3. Increase piglets' birth weight and weaning weight. The heavier the piglet at birth, the easier it is to raise, the faster the weight gain, and the greater the weaning weight. According to experiments, under the same feeding conditions, fattening pigs with a high weaning weight have a slaughter period 1-2 months shorter than those with a low weaning weight.
4. Provide suitable temperature and humidity. If the temperature and humidity in the pig house are too high, pigs will eat less and daily weight gain will decrease. If the temperature is too low, heat energy consumption will be large, feed intake will be high, and feed conversion efficiency will be low. The temperature in the pig house should be 20-30°C for piglets and 15-20°C for adult pigs, with humidity of 50-55%.
5. Provide sufficient clean drinking water. Sufficient drinking water ensures that fattening pigs have vigorous metabolic capacity.
6. The "four fixed and one change" feeding method. That is, fixed feeding frequency, fixed feeding time, fixed feeding amount, fixed feeding standards, and changing wet mixed feed to dry powder feed. Piglets are fed 5-6 times a day, medium pigs 4-5 times, and large pigs 3 times. Feeding time should be relatively fixed every day. The amount of feed fed each time should be balanced.
7. Reasonable stocking density. Each meat pig occupies 0.8-1 sq m. For 3-4-month-old piglets, each occupies 0.6 sq m; for 4-6 months old, 0.8 sq m; for 7-8 months old, 1 sq m. In summer, each pig occupies 1.1-1.2 sq m, and in winter 0.9-1 sq m.
Fattening pigs
8. Same-litter original-pen rearing method. For piglets from birth to fattening and slaughter, implementing the same-litter original-pen rearing method has a better effect than the method of moving pens and mixed rearing after weaning. Because stress is reduced, daily weight gain can be increased by 7-8%, and the fattening slaughter period can also be shortened by 20-30 days.
9. Castrate early. The earlier the castration age, the smaller the stress effect on piglets. Castration at 20-25 days of age, compared with castration after weaning at 60 days of age, increases daily weight gain by 5-6% and shortens the slaughter period by 15-20 days.
10. Timely epidemic prevention and deworming. It is necessary to strictly follow the epidemic prevention procedures to carry out vaccination and drug deworming work for piglets against swine fever, swine erysipelas, swine pasteurellosis, and other diseases.
