Buy lean cattle and sell fat cattle to earn the price difference: new methods for fattening thin and weak beef cattle

Cattle

    1. "Drunken cattle" fattening:Feed lean cattle with distillers' grains; they gain weight quickly and the cost is low. They can be marketed in 2 months, and each cow can gain 90 kg. Select crossbred improved cattle or large-framed lean bulls aged 4 to 7 years; do not use castrated bulls or cows. Then tie the cattle inside the pen and do not allow them to move around freely, and do not pile forage within the cattle's line of sight. Within about 10 days after tying the cattle, feed only a small amount of distillers' grains and force the cattle to eat them; from day 30 to 45, feed 2.5 kg of cornmeal per day, divided into 2 feedings; from day 46 to 60, every 5 days, increase the feed by 2 kg, added in 3 portions.

    2. Rapid fattening of lean cattle:Using this method to raise lean cattle, the daily weight gain is more than 2 kg, the cost is low, and they can be marketed in 20—40 days. For each lean cow, soak 1 to 2 kg of rice in 10 kg of warm water for 12 hours, then feed it together with the water, divided into 3 feedings in 1 day. At the same time, soak 1.5 kg of soybeans until swollen, then grind them into a slurry and let the cattle drink it raw; feed this for 3 consecutive days. Then cook and mash 0.5 kg of crab, rice field eel, or loach, mix it with 1.5 kg of fermented glutinous rice, administer orally once, and feed for 3 consecutive days. At the same time, each cow should be given 0.5—1 kg of crushed cornmeal cooked into porridge with a little edible salt, mixed into short rice straw or corn stalks, and fed to the beef cattle at fixed times of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Keep the barn clean and dry daily, and dissolve trichlorfon in warm water and administer it orally to expel internal and external parasites.

    3. Fattening yellow cattle after work:First, stop labor and let the cattle rest for 2 to 3 days to recover their strength. Then have a dedicated person supply forage and drinking water. The forage should be mainly green hay, supplemented with an appropriate amount of concentrate. The concentrate can be replaced by complete feed for pigs and chickens, and 100 to 150 g of edible salt should be supplemented daily.

    4. Rapid fattening of lean cattle:(1) For weak old cattle, first cook 3.5—4 kg of cow bezoar ginger and 1.5 kg of glutinous rice, mix with 100—200 g of rice wine, and feed in 4 portions, once every 2 to 3 days; or decoct 500 g each of red dates and brown sugar with 60 g of Angelica sinensis and feed the decoction, 1 dose per day for 7 consecutive days. Or chop 250—500 g of Pogostemon? [Note: Pogostemon could not be reliably identified] and decoct with 250—500 g of pitted red dates, add an appropriate amount of brown sugar, and feed. Or decoct 100 g of Vitex negundo, 300 g of coix seed, and 40 g of Glehnia root and feed to the cattle. (2) Grind 500 g of fermented black beans and 250 g each of Angelica sinensis, red dates, and Atractylodes macrocephala into powder, soak in boiling water, use 25 g of lard as a guide, and feed once every 7 days, finishing in 7 feedings.
