The nutrient content and properties of different organic fertilizers vary greatly, so the following points must be noted during application.
1. Except for crop straw returned directly to the field, organic fertilizers generally need to undergo composting treatment so they are fully decomposed before being applied to the soil. This is especially important for high-heat organic fertilizers such as cake fertilizer and chicken manure, to prevent seedling burn.
2. Human feces and urine is a quick-acting organic fertilizer with a relatively high nitrogen content, suitable for use as topdressing. Before application it must undergo harmless treatment, and application should be based on the crop; for example, applying too much to chlorine-sensitive crops will lead to a decline in quality. Soil that has been treated with human feces and urine alone for a long time must also be given a certain amount of farmyard manure, compost, waterlogged compost and other organic matter-rich fertilizers, to ensure a balanced supply of soil nutrients.

3. Compost, waterlogged compost, biogas residue fertilizer and the like contain large amounts of humus and are suitable for building soil fertility. However, because they also contain large amounts of organic matter that has not yet fully rotted and decomposed, these fertilizers are best used as base fertilizer and are not suitable for topdressing.
4. Plant ash contains 5% to 10% potassium oxide and is alkaline, so it cannot be mixed or stored with decomposed human feces and urine or farmyard manure, to avoid reducing fertilizer efficiency.
