How to prevent and treat cattle with bloated stomach, no rumination, and difficulty breathing?

Cattle
Cattle rumen bloat, commonly known as bloated stomach, is mostly caused by eating too much cabbage leaves, sweet potato vines, and some other foods that rapidly ferment and produce gas. Cattle with this disease have an enlarged flank, and percussion produces a drum-like sound. In the early stage of the disease, appetite, rumination, and belching decrease or stop, the muzzle becomes dry, and the animal shows arching of the back, turning to look at the abdomen, kicking the belly with the hind legs, wagging the tail, and restlessness while lying down or standing. The sick cow is in poor spirits, stops ruminating, has difficulty breathing, and keeps turning to look at the abdomen; in severe cases, it may die from rumen rupture.
This is because beef cattle eat too much at one time, producing a large amount of gas in the rumen within a short period, causing rapid rumen expansion. Below, let us learn about simple treatment methods for cattle bloated stomach.
Theoretical treatment methods for cattle bloated stomach
The main approach is to expel rumen gas and stop fermentation, combined with systemic therapy such as fluid infusion. In mild cases, take the cattle to a slope with higher ground in front and lower ground behind, raise the head high, pull the tongue by hand to induce belching, and combine this with massaging the rumen with the fist.
In severe cases, rumen puncture and gas release can be performed; gas release should begin slowly to prevent cerebral anemia, and a cardiac stimulant can be injected before the procedure. After gas release, oral anti-fermentation drugs can be given 0.5 hours later. For example: ichthammol, alcohol, castor oil, fennel oil; concentrated saline can be used, and analgin can be injected intravenously to stimulate gastrointestinal function.
Simple treatment methods for cattle bloated stomach
1. 250 to 500 grams of cooked soybean oil can be directly administered by drenching; in severe cases, add some rice vinegar as well, and before long the cow's previously bloated belly will gradually go down. If it is only mild bloating, a branch of tree-of-heaven or willow can be forced into its mouth for 10 to 20 minutes, and the bloating symptoms will quickly disappear.
2. For acute rumen bloating, crush 10 garlic bulbs, add 500 mL of vinegar, and administer orally; mix 250-500 mL of sesame oil, 50 grams of cut tobacco, and 7 crushed garlic bulbs and administer orally; administer 2000 mL of 0.4% limewater orally at one time.
3. Clever use of tea leaves to treat cattle diseases; tea leaves have certain medicinal value. Practice has shown that using tea leaves or tea leaves combined with other drugs can treat many diseases of cattle. When cattle have bloating caused by eating too much grass, tea leaves and Chinese honey locust can be pounded together and inserted into the anus, which can induce acute defecation and eliminate bloating; or 250 grams each of tea leaves and shelled radish seeds can be decocted into a thick juice and administered together by drenching.
