Everyone surely knows roses. During this year's Valentine's Day, do you know how much roses cost? Reports say roses command a premium after snow; the market price used to be 2 to 3 yuan per stem, but now each stem costs between 8 and 10 yuan. Carefully designed bouquets are priced at 200 to 300 yuan each. Because roses command such a premium, many flower shops sell only single stems and gift bouquets.

The snowfall has somewhat dampened the pre-Valentine's Day flower market; only some cold-hardy flowers and dried flowers are displayed at the shop entrances, while all the fresh flowers are crammed inside. Carnations, lilies, and balloon flowers are still sold by the bunch, with prices basically stable: carnations and balloon flowers cost 30 to 35 yuan per bunch, and lilies remain 80 yuan per bunch. According to several shop owners, rose prices will fall after Valentine's Day and the Lantern Festival.
