Orchid division, five ways to split, which one should you choose?
Some people rely on twisting, one twist decides everything, that is the legendary master;
I have tried it too, and twisting did not go well, either the seedlings got damaged or they were torn beyond recognition;
Some people use a scalpel or a blade,I have tried this trick too, but the seedlings are suspended in the air, and the hand holding the seedlings is also suspended in the air, and to this day I still have not found the fulcrum to pry up the earth. Besides, I am either afraid of using too much force and cutting my other hand, or afraid of cutting the seedlings next to it!
Later, I found that scissors are still the most reliable, labor-saving, and one snip brings a thoroughly satisfying feeling!

Tool preparation before division:
1. Dakeling Jing, mainly for sterilizing the wound;
2. Scissors, I choose the long-handled type, easy to get in and out;
3. A lighter, to sterilize the scissors;
4. Old newspaper, for drying the roots after division;

Now for the division steps:
1. Withhold water for two more days before division, and after knocking the plant out of the pot the roots will be soft and easier to handle!
2. Open Dakeling Jing and get it ready, use the lighter to burn the scissor blades back and forth to sterilize them;
Special reminder, sterilize once per pot!
3. Sort the roots, straighten out the tangled orchid roots so that most of the orchid roots correspond to the corresponding orchid seedlings!
4. Find the cutting point, and locate the point between seedlings that is easier to loosen and easier to cut open!
5. After finding the cutting point, twist it gently;
6. Bring down the scissors, with a snip, split it into two;
7. Use the scissors to trim the cut surface smooth again;
8. Apply Dakeling Jing to the cut surface;
9. By the way, trim empty roots and dried leaf sheaths;
10. Dry in a shady place until the Dakeling Jing at the cut surface dries;
11. Pot it up, water thoroughly, and keep watering heavily for 3-5 days in a row;
Special note: above 25 or 26 degrees, I generally do not divide orchids, unless there is absolutely no other way!
