What are the temperature management methods for Phalaenopsis orchids?
Temperature management for Phalaenopsis orchids
Phalaenopsis orchids are mainly distributed in tropical low-altitude coastal areas, and their optimum growthcultivationtemperature is 25°C to 28°C during the day and 18°C to 20°C at night. Phalaenopsis orchids are very sensitive to low temperatures. When kept at 15°C for a long time, they stop growing. When the temperature is below 15°C, the roots stop absorbing water, and necrotic black spots appear on the leaves; if this lasts too long, the leaves begin to turn yellow and drop. Every year before winter and in early spring of the following year (that is, around the heating period) is a time of changeable climate in the north, and indoor temperatures all fail to reach 15°C. This is the most difficult period of the year for care. The orchid plants should be placed in a sunny spot indoors, watered less, and if necessary the floor should be sprinkled with water, and at night the orchid plants should be bagged to keep them warm.
