Key points for fertilizer management of Chinese orchids in February and March
Fertilizer management for Chinese orchids in February and March
In February, the orchid plants have consumed the nutrients accumulated in the plant during the flowering period, and now they are in the period of new bud germination, requiring large amounts of nutrients. It is necessary to continuously supply fertilizer with a high nitrogen-potassium ratio and containing cytokinin to maintain the plant's own life and promote bud germination and growth. Therefore, after repotting, fertilizer supply can be divided into the following methods:
1. 3 to 5 days after repotting, you can begin using Anqishengjing at 1500 times dilution or chemical fertilizer with a 25, 5, 20 formula at 1500 times dilution, applying foliar fertilizer. Be careful not to let it drip onto the medium, as this affects root growth.
2. After repotting, immediately use root-specific microbial preparation. Use 1 to 2 grams per pot to promote new root growth.
3. 15 to 20 days after repotting. Place 1 to 2 grams of 14:12:14 slow-release fertilizer per pot at the edge of the pot as a base fertilizer.
4. 15 to 20 days after repotting, the root system has adapted to the new growing environment, and the injured parts have largely healed, beginning to perform absorption functions normally. You must use Chaoqun at 800 times dilution mixed with BS microorganism at 800 times dilution once every 7 to 10 days, until the buds grow out of the sphagnum moss.
If Chinese orchid plants transitioning from the dormant period to the vegetative growth period do not appropriately adjust the plant's various growing conditions, such as the ratio of water, light, and nutrient content, especially if the plant's nutrient content ratio is incorrect, it will greatly affect the germination ability and number of buds.CultivationGrowers must pay close attention.
