Phalaenopsis Water Management Tips: A Detailed Guide to Correct Watering Methods
Phalaenopsis Water Management
Phalaenopsis has aerial roots, so water management is extremely important. Different seasons call for different water management measures. In summer and autumn, when temperatures are high and evaporation is great, for potting media with poor moisture retention, the environment needs to be kept moist frequently, usually requiring misting l-2 times per day. In winter, however, because temperatures are low and humidity is low, and Phalaenopsis is rather sensitive to cold, while maintaining a certain level of ambient temperature and humidity, water accumulating on the leaves must be avoided, so watering is usually done before 3-4 o'clock in the afternoon to ensure the water on the leaves evaporates. In spring, watering can be done once every 2-3 days, depending on the air humidity. (Wang Huaiyu)
