Symptom Identification and Control Methods for Fusarium Wilt

Fusarium Wilt

Symptoms: When Phalaenopsis orchids are infected with this disease, yellow spots appear on the leaves, which then turn black and perforate, while the surrounding tissue gradually turns yellow, eventually causing the leaves to wilt or drop off. Cattleya (Cattleya orchid) flower stalks and flowers are more susceptible to infection, with the affected parts showing brown sunken wet spots that expand to cause the flower stalks to turn brown and shrivel, leading to flower drop or reduced commercial value. Control Methods: 1. Improve ventilation and ensure adequate light. 2. Replace the growing medium when it decomposes, as old growing medium easily breeds pathogens. 3. Treatment fungicides: 75% chlorothalonil 500x solution, 70% mancozeb 500x solution, or 1:1:200 Bordeaux mixture, sprayed once a week. 4. For routine health care, use 75% chlorothalonil 500x solution, 70% mancozeb 500x solution, or 1:1:200 Bordeaux mixture, sprayed once a month on a regular basis for prevention. (Xue Congxian)
