Leaf Tip Blight

Cause The Chinese orchid community calls it tip blight disease, and the cause of the disease is still not very clear to this day. It is speculated that it may be caused by pathogen infection due to excessive moisture in the growing medium, especially in orchid plants with injured roots or no roots, which are more prone to this disease. Symptoms In the early stage of the disease, brown lesions appear at the leaf tip, showing a brown dried-up appearance. Afterward, the area around the lesions turns dark brown and gradually expands, and then small black spots appear on the lesions. Prevention Spraying 70% copper hydroxide at 800 times dilution every 15 days can effectively prevent the occurrence of this disease. Treatment Orchid plants suffering from this disease should be protected from rain or watering, otherwise the condition will worsen. If unfortunately infected, the diseased parts should be cut off, and disinfection of the orchid greenhouse should be strengthened. Zhang Fengrong
