Huawei wants to go into farming? Is this true? Is it only because of what Huawei rotating chairman Hu Houkun said? Let's take a look. Huawei wants to go into farming? Is this true? Is it only because of what Huawei rotating chairman Hu Houkun said? Let's take a look.
Huawei rotating chairman Hu Houkun revealed and announced: it will cooperate with the father of Chinese hybrid rice, “Yuan Longping”, to cultivate seawater rice, and through soil digitalization, make rice grow on saline-alkali land, transforming 100 million mu of good farmland out of 1.5 billion mu of saline-alkali land.

Hu Houkun revealed: the core technology of saline-alkali land improvement is the “four-dimensional transformation method”, which includes breeding new rice varieties and regulating plants and soil. The foundation of the whole method is the “element IoT system”, and Huawei is participating in this construction.
So, what is the element IoT?
Huawei's explanation: the element IoT is actually soil digitalization. The above-ground part of this system is equipped with small weather stations, communication modules and high-definition cameras, while underground and on the surface, various sensors (radio frequency technology) collect information such as light, temperature and salinity-alkalinity, and then transmit it to Huawei's cloud big data center. Through an AI artificial intelligence system and expert diagnosis, it provides targeted medicines and directed fertilization, greatly increasing water use and fertilization amounts.

Everyone widely recognizes the quality of Huawei phones, and the price is not particularly expensive either. For some people, the cost-performance ratio is very good, so sales can explain everything. For any phone company, sales of 200 million units are an achievement to be proud of, and Huawei's goals go far beyond that. As an ambitious domestic enterprise, pushing Huawei phones to the top of the world is not a dream at all, and its international influence is now growing greater and greater. Although it still cannot compete with Apple and Samsung, it has already had some impact on their sales.

So Huawei's recent goal is certainly focused on phones. As for other areas, although innovation is understandable, a technological product like a phone seems to have little connection with the rice we eat. At the time, some people raised their own doubts and wondered whether it was fake news, but because the person who broke such news was a senior Huawei executive, more people chose to believe it. However, recently Huawei's official side responded to this matter in this way: it stated that the recent online rumours about Huawei cooperating with Yuan Longping are false, and all of this was just us overthinking it.

Huawei's official side stated that recently it has no plan to engage in rice cultivation, nor has it released such news, and it does not know where this rumour came from. For Huawei, traditional industries are now facing transformation, so it will certainly put its energy into the fields it excels in and is currently researching, rather than rashly investing in fields it is not good at. In fact, this is the attitude an enterprise should have. Even if it does very well, it cannot cover everything; only by making the fields it excels in truly refined is what it should do.
