Detailed Explanation of Vinegar Making Methods and Fruit Fly Control Techniques
Do you know how to make acetic acid? And do you know anything about fruit fly control methods? If not, let's take a look together below.
I. Acetic Acid Making Method
Purpose of use:Pouring into soil has the effect of suppressing nematodes; spraying on leaves has a fertilizing effect and also has repellent and sterilizing functions.
Materials:Shrimp or crab shell powder, Kong Yen vinegar (use one with a higher acetic acid concentration, about 10%, generally called 10 degrees; edible vinegar is 3-5 degrees.), wood vinegar (a material requiring submission for review), and a bucket.
Making method:
1. 150g shrimp or crab shell powder + 1000c.c.~1500c.c. Kong Yen vinegar. Mix evenly and soak to dissolve.
2. Mix 1. with 30 liters of wood vinegar. Stir once a day, and it can be used in one week.
Precautions:
1. During production, the solution will foam, so the bucket must be doubled in size.
2. When spraying leafy vegetables, please use it on small seedlings or at times well before harvest, with a dilution ratio of 300 times. For fruit trees, the dilution ratio is the same as for leafy vegetables.
Adding spreading effect makes it even more complete
Qidao acetic acid (diluted 500 times)
+ neem seed oil (diluted 500 times)
+ wood vinegar (diluted 300 times)
Note: Neem grows wild in Taiwan, China, and November on the Gregorian calendar is its peak seed-bearing season.
Precautions:
1. When using various natural pesticides, the concentration should be increased or decreased according to leaf response. However, 250 times is the strongest bottom line.
2. Qidao acetic acid should be placed in a cool place, and its shelf life is two weeks.

II. Fruit Fly Control Methods
l. Use traps.
2. Place expired (cheaper) Oasis guava juice inside the trap to lure fruit flies in. At this point, the fruit flies can only enter and cannot get out, so they are suffocated or starve to death. However, because the fragrance of guava juice spreads only about 5~10 meters, a relatively large number must be hung, about 1 per tree, and they should not be hung in the same direction; staggered hanging is better.
About 200 are needed per hectare.
3. It is said that this year, because the Dongshi Farmers' Association vigorously promoted it, the fruit fly problem seems to have clearly decreased.
4. Prevention is better than cure; when using it, control must be carried out before occurrence.
