Orchid Fungicide - Kedi Song

Kedi Song is a broad-spectrum fungicide with systemic and penetrating action. Its chemical name is sodium dimethylaminobenzenediazonium phosphate. The pure product is a pale yellow crystalline solid, while the technical-grade product is a yellow-brown odorless powder. It is soluble in water, ethanol and other solvents; its aqueous solution decomposes when exposed to direct sunlight, and it is highly toxic to humans and livestock. The formulations available are a 70% wettable powder and a 90% technical powder. Kedi Song is a relatively good soil-treatment and seed fungicide, and can also be used as a spray. A 500-1000 times dilution of the 70% wettable powder sprayed as a liquid can control downy mildew, soft rotdisease, bacterial leaf spot and other diseases in many ornamental flowers. Mixing 5 g of the 90% technical powder with 20 times its weight of fine soil and broadcasting it in the seedbed at 5 g per sq m can control many diseases of flower seedlings during the seedling stage, such asorchidsouthern blight, orchidbacterialsoft rotand other diseases. Points to note when using: (1) The aqueous solution of Kedi Song is unstable in sunlight, so soil treatment and drenching should be applied into the soil as soon as possible, and spraying is best done on cloudy days or in the evening; it should be mixed and used immediately; (2) it must not be mixed with alkaline pesticides.
