Detailed Introduction to DD Mixture Fungicide for Orchids
Orchid Fungicide - DD Mixture
Also called DD mixture, DD, or DD agent. It is an organochlorine nematicide. The industrial product is a yellowish-brown, slightly green oily liquid with a garlic-like odor, insoluble in water, easily soluble in organic solvents. It decomposes and loses effectiveness when it contacts metals or strong acids and strong bases, and is highly toxic to humans and livestock. It also causes some phytotoxicity to plants, so it cannot be used during the plant growing period; you must waitcultivationuntil the medicinal liquid in the substrate has diffused and volatilized for half a month before planting.
Formulation: 50% DD miscible emulsion
Targets and methods of use: mainly used to control nematodes, also controls wireworms, white grubs, etc., and has a certain control effect on soil-borne diseases.
If planted in the groundorchidsare used for soil treatment, applied in furrows at 30-40 kg per mu (667 sq m), with a furrow depth of 15 cm, then covered with soil after application; spot application is also possible. The most suitable soil temperature for application is 21-27°C; when the soil temperature is below 10°C, the efficacy is poor. The most suitable soil moisture is 5%-25%; both too dry and too wet are unfavorable. Plant only 7-14 days after application.
Precautions:
1. This agent has contact toxic effects. If the liquid gets on the skin, immediately wash it off with soapy water.
2. After use, clean the tools with kerosene to prevent corrosion.
3. This agent should be kept away from fire sources and protected from sunlight to prevent ignition. (Liu Zhongjian)
