Orchid insecticide - cypermethrin

Also known as Anlubao and Xingmianbao. A brownish-yellow viscous liquid, not easily volatile, readily soluble in water, strongly lipophilic, stable to light, heat, acids and neutral solutions, but easily decomposed by alkalis. It has contact, stomach and antifeedant action. Its scope of application and target pests are similar to those of fenvalerate, but its effect on mites is poor. Cypermethrin has lower activity than deltamethrin, so the dosage must be 3-4 times higher than that of deltamethrin to achieve the same effect. It has low toxicity to humans and livestock, is strongly lethal to fish, bees and silkworms, is safe for plants, and causes little environmental pollution. Formulations: 10% emulsifiable concentrate, 25% emulsifiable concentrate, 5% emulsifiable concentrate. Target pests and methods of use: 1. Mainly controls pests such as leafhoppers, thrips and aphids. Generally spray with a 2500-3500 times dilution. 2. For boring pests, spray at hatching or 1-2 days before hatching to achieve good results. Precautions: 1. Cypermethrin has no systemic action, so spraying must be uniform and thorough. 2. It must not be mixed with alkaline pesticides. 3. Cypermethrin has poor acaricidal power; if mites are to be controlled at the same time, it must be mixed with an acaricide. 4. Cypermethrin is highly toxic to natural enemies, so care should be taken when using it. 5. This pesticide can cause irritating allergic reactions on the skin of some people, so take protective measures when using it. (Liu Zhongjian)
