Over 200 million mu of deep loosening and land preparation task completed ahead of schedule

Event: Since the beginning of this year, agricultural machinery management departments at all levels have taken agricultural machinery deep loosening and land preparation as an important technical measure to tap the potential for increased grain production. As of November 30, a total of 203 million mu of deep loosening and land preparation had been completed nationwide, overfulfilling the agricultural machinery deep loosening and land preparation task proposed in the Report on the Work of the Government.

Comment: Deep loosening and land preparation is a new agricultural mechanization technology that the Ministry of Agriculture has focused on promoting in recent years, and is another major policy measure after agricultural machinery purchase subsidies. Agricultural machinery deep loosening and land preparation has been included in the Report on the Work of the Government for two consecutive years, and the proposal of the task that “in 2015 the whole country should strive to complete 200 million mu of deep loosening and land preparation” both show the high importance the state attaches to deep loosening and land preparation work. While the results of deep loosening operations are remarkable, the market for high-horsepower tractors and tillage implements is very brisk. In the first half of the year, while the market for wheat and rice harvesters declined noticeably, the market for large and medium-sized tractors showed a substantial upward trend.
