New Fujian Tea Variety - Chunlan (Xinxuan 301)

Based on the research approach of improving the yield and stress resistance of Tieguanyin while retaining its high-aroma, high-quality characteristics, the Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences Tea Research Institute developed this new clonal variety through selection from natural hybrid progeny of Tieguanyin. Shrub type, medium-leaf class, early-sprouting variety. The plant is tall, with a semi-spreading posture and moderately dense branching, and high yield; the buds and leaves are yellow-green, horizontally arranged, with few trichomes. The spring bud sprouting period is generally in early to mid-March, and the one-bud-three-leaf stage is in early to mid-April. The cutting survival rate is moderate, and the transplanting survival rate is relatively high, with wide adaptability and strong stress resistance. It produces oolong tea of excellent quality, with a high, long-lasting aroma,Orchiddistinct fragrance, and a mellow, full-bodied taste with lingering aftertaste. Suitable for promotion and planting in oolong tea regions.
