As of the end of July, the nationwide grandparent chicken reduction work advocated by the China White Feather Broiler Alliance had been successfully completed. Grandparent chicken enterprises actively responded to the call and culled their grandparent chicken stocks proportionally. Most enterprises exceeded their targets, with the total reduction accounting for 10.5% of the stock in production.

⟦NL> It is understood that in early July, the White Feather Broiler Alliance of the Poultry Branch of the China Animal Agriculture Association, in response to the imbalance between white feather broiler production capacity and market demand, finally decided to cull the surplus grandparent chicken stock in order to ease the current situation of China's white feather broiler industry. After multiple rounds of communication with enterprises, and on the premise of limiting the 2014 introduction volume, it once again proposed reducing grandparent chicken stock in order to restore the broiler industry that is in crisis as soon as possible. After repeated meeting discussions, the enterprises reached a consensus on reducing production. Starting from July 10, the alliance supervised and implemented a half-month production reduction campaign. An observer from the public opinion monitoring desk of Xumudaji Network believes that with the implementation of the production reduction campaign, as of August 5, the prices of commercial day-old chicks and commercial live chickens in the main producing areas nationwide had both risen. The price of commercial day-old chicks broke through 3 yuan/bird; the price of commercial live chickens broke through more than 9.5 yuan/bird. At present, the peak stocking season has arrived, and farmers' enthusiasm for restocking has increased significantly compared with the earlier period. White feather broilers entered China in the early 1980s. After more than 30 years of development, they have become the most industrialized sector in China's agriculture and animal husbandry industry. China's chicken production ranks second in the world. The rapid development of the white feather broiler industry has also made chicken the second-largest meat consumer product in China. However, due to disorderly competition and a lack of self-discipline in the industry, China's white feather broilers are in oversupply. In addition, continuous negative news in the white feather broiler industry over the past two years has led to a decline in chicken consumption, shrinking chicken consumption and depressed prices, with the entire industry suffering comprehensive losses.
