Agriculture around cities will show a trend toward park-like development
Green development is a theme of our times. Lu'an's urban development is very dynamic, and if Lu'an's agriculture is to achieve leapfrog development, it must be different from the past.
First, it is suggested that Lu'an City coordinate urban and rural development through urban ecological agriculture. In the future, urban ecological agriculture may be a choice for seeking development and breakthroughs in our region, using it to coordinate the harmonious construction of city and countryside and future development. In most parts of our country, agriculture is still a typical, backward industry; the volume is large, but the benefits are not very outstanding, so agriculture and rural areas must keep pace with urban development and reflect the characteristics of urban development. Lu'an's agriculture must develop across boundaries and drive the upgrading and replacement of the entire agricultural industry. Concepts must be renewed, and production methods must change. The future forms of urban ecological agriculture will be diverse; it is based on production, enlivens rural areas, supports cities, and enriches farmers. It is an agricultural industry that makes others happy and makes oneself happy.
Second, agriculture must achieve cross-boundary development. During the period of integrated urban-rural development in China, the development of agriculture depends not only on traditional land, capital, talent, and some advantageous resources within the agricultural sphere, including science and technology; at the same time, resources from other industries must enter in order to truly develop modern agriculture well. It must rely on cross-boundary development and coordinated, integrated development, including promoting interaction between agriculture and the elderly care industry, integration with the cultural industry, and integration with the health industry. These are all directions for future modern agricultural development. Taiwan, China's leisure agriculture has developed very well. What is leisure agriculture? It is not selling melons, fruits, pears, and peaches as products, and not treating pigs, horses, cattle, and sheep as livestock and poultry, but selling the entire process.
So how does agriculture now upgrade and replace itself? The upgrading and replacement mentioned here refers to modern agriculture, under the trend of highly intensive and highly integrated development, taking ecological civilization as its value orientation and the construction of a new industrial system as its content, continuously forming new industrial forms, new agricultural production methods, and a new process of urban-rural integration. This process is one of upgrading and replacement. For Lu'an, in my personal understanding, to develop ecological industries and achieve green development, the following three core functions are needed: one is ecological conservation, one is leisure and sightseeing, and the third is efficient production. What about its innovation functions? They are science popularization and education, health and wellness, and cultural inheritance. Its extended functions are demonstration and radiation, and urban-rural coordination.
In addition, the cultural industry of agriculture and rural areas must also be vigorously developed. Developing the rural cultural industry is intended to achieve the following goals: one is to strengthen agriculture through culture, benefit agriculture through culture, and transform agriculture through culture, using culture to resolve our difficult problems. Any industry taken to the extreme is culture.
What should Lu'an do? My personal suggestion is to continue phasing out backward production capacity, such as those that consume energy, consume water, and pollute; adhere to the correct orientation and cultivate producers' and operators' ecological value culture and ecological values; support enterprises in adopting new science and technology for technological transformation from the aspects of finance and services; and agriculture and rural areas must shift from the past production-led economy to a consumption-led economy, selling the culture of villages.
What will the future of urban ecological agriculture look like? In the future, based on some development experiences in various places, agriculture around cities will show a trend toward park-like development; in outer suburbs, including mountainous areas, there will be a trend toward ecological landscapization.
Generally speaking, agriculture must achieve scale, industrialization, standardization, and enterprise operation. If Lu'an City is to develop urban ecological agriculture, it must implement the green development strategy proposed by the municipal party committee and municipal government, base itself on natural and cultural resources, rely on location and market advantages, link with urban development, take agriculture as the foundation, take the market as the orientation, take culture as the connotation, and take high and new technology and modernized management as support, expanding the multifunctionality of agriculture.
Urban ecological agriculture can be said to connect production and life, connect cities and villages, and connect urban residents and farmers. Urban ecological agriculture will certainly make our urban and rural areas more beautiful. Through developing urban ecological agriculture and combining it with beautiful rural construction, I believe Lu'an will certainly become a vibrant, charming, happy, harmonious, and prosperous Lu'an in the future.
