August 14, 2014 National Agricultural Products Wholesale Price Index Rise and Fall

According to monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, on August 14 the “National Agricultural Products Wholesale Price Index” was 208.34, up 1.12 points from yesterday, of which the “Vegetable Basket” Products Wholesale Price Index was 210.96, up 1.36 points from yesterday.

As of 14:00 today, the average price of pork in national agricultural products wholesale markets was 19.70 yuan/kg (pork wholesale price index 170.52), down 0.3% from yesterday;

Beef 53.91 yuan/kg, down 0.5% from yesterday;

Mutton 54.82 yuan/kg, up 0.1% from yesterday;

Eggs 10.51 yuan/kg, down 0.2% from yesterday;

Dressed chicken 15.26 yuan/kg, up 2.2% from yesterday.

The average price of the 28 key monitored vegetable varieties was 3.49 yuan/kg (vegetable wholesale price index 193.20), up 1.2% from yesterday;

The average price of the 7 key monitored fruit varieties was 5.94 yuan/kg, down 0.7% from yesterday.

The average price of crucian carp was 15.18 yuan/kg, down 0.3% from yesterday;

Common carp 12.44 yuan/kg, down 0.5% from yesterday;

Silver carp 6.96 yuan/kg, down 1.4% from yesterday;

Large hairtail 27.20 yuan/kg, down 1.1% from yesterday.

Today, among the 60 varieties under key monitoring in domestic fresh agricultural products wholesale markets, the top five price increases compared with yesterday were: spinach, eggplant, yardlong bean, Kyoho grape and lettuce, with increases of 3.7%, 3.5%, 3.3%, 2.9% and 2.6% respectively; the top five price decreases were: Ya pear, pumpkin, pineapple, large yellow croaker and lotus root, with decreases of 6.3%, 4.4%, 3.9%, 2.7% and 2.2% respectively.
