How to grow flowers so they bloom better
How to make flowers bloom well
Right now it is springorchidsblooming season, and orchid shows are springing up all over. While feasting their eyes, orchid enthusiasts praise fine specimens with good form to the skies, while turning up their noses at the same variety with poor form. These different flower forms oforchidsset everyone talking: truly, one mother bears nine children, each looking different. How can you get the best flower form? Let me offer a few humble personal views here. Get through the seed selection stage well. Generally, for traditional varieties, try to go to well-known orchid nurseries. From street stalls and roving orchid peddlers, theorchidsare either fake or diseased, and the margin of safety is too low. Choose slightly sturdy new seedlings; of course, the price of front-row rhizome plants is not low, but after two years of growing you will know whether it was worth it. This is especially true for beginners. Only with sound seedlings can flowers be good. Get through the growing stage. Good seedlings are easy to grow, have strong resistance, sprout easily and are easy to manage. Introduce two or three shoots in spring, and by autumn you will have double or more the results. During this period, master the basics of materials, fertilizing, watering, humidifying, lighting, ventilation, heat prevention, insulation and so on, and you can achieve the expected results. It is worth mentioning that if you use traditional potting medium, you need no root fertilizer that year; at most spray some foliar fertilizer. Get through the bud protection stage. Many seedlings will surely produce flowers. Buds appear in autumn, and soon winter arrives. At this point the key is temperature management. Generally, the standard is to give the orchids a good dormancy environment; the temperature should not be lower than 5 degrees, and slightly higher during the day does no harm. Let the buds enjoy full sunlight; for plain-color varieties, stop in good time, otherwise the flower color tends to yellow, which spoils the display. Get through the stem-emergence management stage. Once the buds begin to wake up and the stems elongate, move the pots indoors. The purpose of doing this: to ensure theorchidflowers open in a tender green, bright color, with the exception of yellow and red flowers. At the same time, watering takes first place; try to keep the orchid pot moist, do not let the pot surface get too dry, and keep environmental humidity at at least 50, laying the foundation for orchids to open tall and graceful. Get through the flowering-period maintenance stage. To get the best flower form, the key is mastering watering. When the buds first open a small gap, most petal-type flowers need controlled watering, to prevent the side petals from stretching and the shoulders from drooping; for ruffled petal-type flowers, water relatively more, so the form flows gracefully; oddflowertypes need even more water, ideally reaching a dripping-wet state, and then the wonder is fully in place. I sincerely hope orchid enthusiasts' orchids bloom with the highest possible quality and delight the heart!
