Green mountains roll on and clouds and mist swirl around; the tea township of northern Guizhou rivals Jiangnan. On August 12, the Ministry of Agriculture's Rural Practical Talent Training Base held its unveiling ceremony in Hetaoba Village, Meijiang Town, Meitan County, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province. This is the 19th Rural Practical Talent Training Base organized and built by the Ministry of Agriculture. Zeng Yichun, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Director of the Department of Personnel and Labor, attended the unveiling ceremony and, on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, presented training equipment worth 200,000 yuan to Hetaoba Village.

Starting in 2006, the Ministry of Agriculture successively selected typical villages in modern agriculture and new socialist countryside development across the country and designated them as Rural Practical Talent Training Bases. More than 300 training sessions have been held cumulatively, training more than 30,000 leaders of various kinds. In recent years, under the leadership of Party branch secretary Chen Yanming, Hetaoba Village has taken grain production, the tea industry and rural tourism as its leading industries, creating a model of mountainous modern agriculture and new socialist countryside development. In 2013, the village's total comprehensive output value of the tea industry exceeded 300 million yuan, and the annual per capita net income of farmers exceeded 12,000 yuan. After being designated by the Ministry of Agriculture as a Rural Practical Talent Training Base, Hetaoba Village will mainly conduct demonstration training for rural practical talent leaders and college-graduate village officials from neighboring provinces, contributing to the development of the rural practical talent workforce.

On the same day, the first training session at the Hetaoba Village training base, with the theme of college-graduate village officials starting businesses, officially opened. 100 college-graduate village officials from Guizhou and other places will take part in a week of study and exchange here.
