Quality and safety of veterinary drugs receive high attention, promoting healthy industry development
On August 26, the National Symposium of Key Veterinary Drug Enterprises was held in Qingdao. Vice Minister of Agriculture Yu Kangzhen emphasized at the meeting that the quality and safety of veterinary drugs concerns the healthy development of the breeding industry and the quality and safety of livestock products, and enterprises must establish a correct development philosophy, continuously improve the level of veterinary drug quality and safety, and drive the healthy development of the veterinary drug industry.
Yu Kangzhen pointed out that key veterinary drug enterprises are the vanguard of veterinary drug enterprises and must firmly establish the concept of lawful production and operation, uphold integrity and self-discipline, and serve as models of law-abiding operation in the industry. In accordance with the principle of “whoever produces is responsible,” they must effectively fulfill their primary responsibilities. Strengthen enterprise quality awareness and elevate both enterprise quality management standards and product quality standards to a higher level. Strengthen innovation awareness, adopt effective measures, and continuously advance technological progress and scientific and technological innovation. Strengthen integrity awareness, consciously abide by statutory market order, and strictly implement normative standards. Strengthen enterprise social responsibility awareness, advocate strengthening social responsibility management in product production, sales, use and other links, and give back to society, support public welfare, and assist the poor in production and operation activities.
Yu Kangzhen emphasized that management systems must be innovated to ensure the healthy development of the veterinary drug industry. The drafting and revision of veterinary drug laws and regulations must be accelerated, and the veterinary drug regulatory system further improved and perfected. Governance of prominent problems must be carried out in depth, and taking the announcement of heavier penalties for illegal veterinary drug activities as an opportunity, veterinary drug regulatory enforcement must be strengthened and a high-pressure posture always maintained. The construction of the integrity system must be advanced, and a blacklist system established. The informatization of the veterinary drug traceability system must be accelerated, veterinary drug production enterprises and products brought into the veterinary drug traceability system as soon as possible, and regulation strengthened in a targeted manner. The role of all sectors of society must be fully brought into play, striving to form a social pattern of cracking down on counterfeiting through the joint action of veterinary drug regulatory departments, quality inspection agencies, production and marketing enterprises, and end users.
A total of more than 60 people attended the symposium, including representatives from key veterinary drug enterprises across the country, as well as responsible officials and experts from relevant departments and associations.
