Despite being affected by prolonged continuous low temperatures, overcast and rainy weather, and insufficient sunlight, the machine-transplanted early rice at Datonghu Farm of Hunan State Farms still achieved a bumper harvest. Expert inspection data show that the average yield of machine-transplanted early rice in the area was 532.8 kg per mu. At the same time, after more than 110,000 mu of machine-transplanted early rice in the area encountered an extremely heavy rainstorm and strong winds in early July, not a single plot lodged, once again fully demonstrating the huge advantage of machine transplanting in resisting stress and achieving high yields.

Dai Dihua, a villager from Wangxing Village in Heba Town, felt very sorry that his field had not been selected for yield measurement. “It's more than 100 jin higher than the yield you measured.” Dai Dihua said.

Since the beginning of this year, Datonghu Farm has aimed at full mechanization of rice production, firmly grasping the key point of machine-transplanted rice production. Through the demonstration and guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture's “Rice Production Full Mechanization Demonstration County” and the provincial-level “Rice Production Full Mechanization Model Tackling” projects, under government guidance and market leadership, with a little financial subsidy, a little project support, a little raised by farmers, a little profit concession by businesses, and a little demonstration-driven progress, the area's machine-transplanted rice production has shifted from demonstration and promotion to voluntary adoption. According to statistics, since the end of May alone, 11 additional high-speed rice transplanters for late rice production have been applied for across the farm, and the area of machine-transplanted late rice in the area increased by 11,000 mu compared with early rice.
