The legendary myth

The legendary myth: In 2001, Chen Jiang, an orchid enthusiast from Xinchang, Zhejiang, selected three small plants from wild-collected seedlings of a local orchid farmer. After years of cultivation, three times budding, and two years of flowering, it produced a lotus-petal myth with both divine form and spirit, entered into the records and passed down through generations, creating glory in the orchid world.
From which place in the county the small myth orchid was selected from a local orchid farmer, and from where it came down the mountain, orchid enthusiast Chen Jiang has always been vague, possibly because he has something difficult to say. Based on the range where local orchid farmers dug orchids at the time, it is inferred that the myth orchid came from within the four mountains of Tianmu Mountain, Zhoushan, Siming Mountain, and Tiantai Mountain. Recently, at the home of an orchid enthusiast in Ningbo, a gamble grass resembling the myth in form and spirit was seen. If this gamble grass also blooms as the myth, then the birthplace of the myth would be very clear.
I was fortunate to watch the myth grow, discuss whether its grass was good or bad, guess what flower its grass would produce, watch it bud, bloom, and have its flowers cut, and have had many years of comprehensive understanding and contact with the myth, personally experiencing the myth's beauty and wonder, the myth's unique style, and the myth's distinctiveness.
The myth's buds
After the myth's buds emerge from the soil, they are pointed, the color is a pure tender green, with a little white tip on top, not at all giving the feeling of a lotus-petal bud.

The myth's bracts
After the myth's bracts emerge from the soil, they are peanut-shaped, pointed at the tip and bulging in the middle, without the feeling of common lotus-petal flower bracts. In Chen Jiang's own words, a romantic air shows through light sand and thin clothing.

The myth's bract sheaths
After the myth's bract sheaths emerge from the soil, they are emerald green long bract sheaths; their shape, veins, and color are not those of common lotus-petal bracts, and the further inward they go, the lighter the color becomes.

The wonder of the myth lies entirely in going against the usual way, turning many impossibilities into reality, and only in the end revealing its true identity as a lotus petal.
I have asked Chen Jiang many times why he took a fancy to this grass. Chen Jiang mostly smiled without answering. When others offered a high price to buy it, Chen Jiang was not moved either. It can be said that the myth is a gift bestowed by heaven to Chen Jiang and to orchid lovers under heaven.
