New corn is not far from hitting the market, wheat hard to make a splash as feed
The listing of new-season corn is just around the corner, and corn prices are beginning to show signs of downward pressure, the proportion of wheat used as feed substitute will further decrease in the future, and energy feed is likely to return to the "corn-dominant" era.
Domestic corn prices remain firm, with supply tight in most regions, and feed enterprises are starting to use wheat and other raw materials to replace corn. From May to now, wheat as an energy feed substitute for corn has remained in a state of "much thunder but little rain," and the large-scale use of wheat as an energy feed substitute for corn has never been implemented. At present, with new corn about to be listed in North China, what will the prospect of wheat as an energy feed substitute for corn be?
Wheat replacing corn has the condition of a price spread
Judging from the price spread between wheat and corn, the corn purchase price of feed enterprises in Dezhou, Shandong, is 2750 yuan/ton, and the in-plant purchase price of enterprises demanding wheat is 2600 yuan/ton, with a price spread of -150 yuan/ton; in Zhengzhou, Henan, the delivered-to-factory price of corn is 2800 yuan/ton, and the delivered-to-factory price of wheat is 2580-2600 yuan/ton, with a price spread of -200 yuan/ton; the delivered-to-port price of corn in Guangzhou is 2710 yuan/ton, and the delivered-to-port price of wheat is 2610 yuan/ton, with a price spread of -100 yuan/ton.
