In the first half of this year, the national usage of formula fertilizer for major grain crops reached 5.3 million tons (in terms of pure nutrients), with an application area of 360 million mu-times, up 17.8% and 20% respectively compared with the same period last year; formula fertilizer already accounted for about 40% of the total fertilizer applied to major grain crops. This was learned by the reporter at the meeting to evaluate the results of the demonstration county creation for promoting formula fertilizer through agricultural enterprise cooperation. This meeting was jointly held by the Crop Production Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Sinochem Fertilizer Co., Ltd. The meeting proposed that agricultural departments of pilot provinces and demonstration counties should further explore new models suited to local conditions and drive the large-scale application of formula fertilizer.
On January 16 this year, the Crop Production Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Sinochem Fertilizer Co., Ltd. signed the Memorandum on Cooperation to Advance Scientific Fertilization, deciding that starting this year, in 19 major grain and cash crop counties across 11 provinces and regions including Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia and Shandong, they would jointly carry out the creation of “demonstration counties for promoting formula fertilizer through agricultural enterprise cooperation,” build a batch of typical models that can be replicated and promoted, and explore a long-term mechanism for promoting formula fertilizer through agricultural enterprise cooperation. On April 1 this year, the Ministry of Agriculture held a national symposium on scientific fertilization work in Changsha, Hunan, proposing to firmly establish the concept of “fertilizing for increased yield, economical fertilization and environmentally friendly fertilization,” further innovate work approaches, transform the development mode, and embark on a path of scientific fertilization with Chinese characteristics.
⟦NL> Since the beginning of this year, with the joint efforts of the agricultural departments of pilot provinces and demonstration counties and the relevant Sinochem Fertilizer enterprises, the demonstration county creation activity for promoting formula fertilizer through agricultural enterprise cooperation has progressed smoothly. In project implementation, localities have explored formula fertilizer promotion models suited to local conditions and summarized many good experiences and practices. Practice shows that the activity of promoting formula fertilizer through agricultural enterprise cooperation is an important means of deepening soil testing and formula fertilization, a key measure for promoting formula fertilizer into villages, fields and households, and also an effective way to guide fertilizer enterprises in transformation and upgrading and vigorously carry out agrochemical services. Driven by the demonstration effect of the demonstration county creation activity for promoting formula fertilizer through agricultural enterprise cooperation, fertilizer enterprises nationwide actively participated in the production, supply and service of formula fertilizer, driving the large-scale promotion and application of formula fertilizer.
Longjiang County is a national model county for grain production and also a demonstration county for promoting formula fertilizer through agricultural enterprise cooperation. This year, the Heilongjiang Branch of Sinochem Fertilizer selected Chaoyue Modern Corn Planting Professional Cooperative in the county as its partner, focusing on the main crop corn and, through the integration of multiple high-yield technologies such as deep loosening and land preparation, selection of improved varieties, scientific fertilization, efficient integrated control of diseases, insects, weeds and pests, optimization of cultivation models, and full-process mechanization, gradually building the area covered by the cooperative into a technology radiation demonstration zone for integrated high-yield and high-quality corn technology and efficient production models.
