September 9, 2014 National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index Week-on-Week

According to monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, on September 9 the “National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index” was 206.87, down 0.61 points from last Friday, of which the “shopping basket” product wholesale price index was 208.91, down 0.79 points from last Friday.

As of 14:00 today, the average price of pork at agricultural wholesale markets nationwide was 20.34 yuan/kg (pork wholesale price index 174.97), down 0.1% from last Friday;

Beef 54.15 yuan/kg, up 0.1% from last Friday;

Mutton 55.22 yuan/kg, down 0.1% from last Friday;

Eggs 11.31 yuan/kg, up 0.4% from last Friday; dressed chicken 15.64 yuan/kg, down 0.4% from last Friday.

The average price of the 28 key monitored vegetable varieties was 3.59 yuan/kg (vegetable wholesale price index 199.07), down 1.1% from last Friday;

The average price of the 7 key monitored fruit varieties was 5.53 yuan/kg, down 0.7% from last Friday.

The average price of crucian carp was 15.22 yuan/kg, up 1.2% from last Friday;

Common carp 12.60 yuan/kg, up 0.6% from last Friday;

Silver carp 7.15 yuan/kg, up 1.0% from last Friday;

Largehead hairtail 27.64 yuan/kg, unchanged from last Friday.

Today, among the 60 varieties key monitored at domestic fresh and live agricultural wholesale markets, compared with last Friday the top five price increases were: Ya pears, rapeseed greens, Chinese chives, bighead carp and crucian carp, with increases of 5.6%, 4.6%, 4.3%, 1.7% and 1.2% respectively; the top five price decreases were: zucchini, cauliflower, pineapple, tomatoes and green peppers, with decreases of 6.4%, 4.9%, 4.9%, 4.8% and 4.4% respectively.
