Central government financial support for unified prevention and control of major crop pests and diseases

To support localities across the country in carrying out unified prevention and control of crop pests and diseases, and to prevent and control the adverse effects of crop pests and diseases on agricultural production, the central government recently allocated 650 million yuan in agricultural production disaster relief funds to provide appropriate subsidies for unified prevention and control of crop pests and diseases. At the same time, localities are required to allocate funds promptly, effectively strengthen oversight, ensure that agricultural production disaster relief funds are used exclusively for their designated purposes, and improve the efficiency of fund use.

The Ministry of Finance stated that in the near future it will continue to closely monitor the occurrence of crop pests and diseases, promptly arrange funds to support the prevention and control of the development and spread of pests and diseases, and do a good job in disaster resistance and production protection.

"The whole year's work depends on a good start in spring." Spring plowing is a key agricultural season and important agricultural task in agricultural production. Early prevention and control of overwintering insect sources and fungal sources during the critical period of spring plowing production can effectively prevent explosive, migratory, and epidemic crop pests and diseases, and achieve "snatching grain from the mouths of insects" to ensure a bumper harvest.
