September 12, 2014 National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index rises and falls

According to monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, on September 12 the “National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index” was 204.65, up 0.05 points from yesterday, among which the “Vegetable Basket” Product Wholesale Price Index was 206.34, up 0.19 points from yesterday.

As of 14:00 today, the average price of pork at agricultural wholesale markets nationwide was 20.06 yuan/kg (pork wholesale price index 173.25), down 0.3% from yesterday;

Beef 54.48 yuan/kg, up 0.3% from yesterday;

Mutton 55.27 yuan/kg, up 0.2% from yesterday;

Eggs 11.30 yuan/kg, up 0.4% from yesterday;

Dressed chicken 15.62 yuan/kg, down 0.2% from yesterday.

The average price of the 28 key monitored vegetable varieties was 3.55 yuan/kg (vegetable wholesale price index 193.70), unchanged from yesterday;

The average price of the 7 key monitored fruit varieties was 5.58 yuan/kg, up 0.9% from yesterday.

The average price of crucian carp was 15.20 yuan/kg, up 0.5% from yesterday;

Common carp 12.48 yuan/kg, up 0.1% from yesterday;

Silver carp 7.00 yuan/kg, up 1.2% from yesterday;

Large hairtail 27.51 yuan/kg, up 0.7% from yesterday.

Today, among the 60 varieties of fresh and live agricultural products under key monitoring at wholesale markets nationwide, compared with yesterday the top five price increases were: winter melon, lettuce, rapeseed (yu choy), onion, and celtuce, with increases of 4.8%, 4.0%, 3.8%, 2.5% and 2.5% respectively; the top five price decreases were: lotus root, yardlong bean, zucchini, cauliflower and cucumber, with decreases of 3.5%, 3.4%, 2.6%, 2.3% and 2.3% respectively.
