First, cut off the burrs formed by the rotting leaf sheaths, then use a toothbrush under the tap to scrub the soil and rotting tissue off the pseudobulb, the purpose being to let the pseudobulb come into close contact with the potting medium. Be gentle when brushing; if you are too rough and brush the growth points to mush, it will turn into a thousand-year-old geezer. Zhu Dayong can rub roots until crystal tips appear, and we can brush pseudobulbs until little lives appear, o(∩_∩)o

Do not cut off the fibrous strands left from the rotted roots; although they have no function of absorbing nutrients, they can anchor the plant and can absorb water and pass it on to the pseudobulb.

Cut off two-thirds of the leaves to prevent water from evaporating too quickly and causing the pseudobulb to shrivel. When transplanting trees in summer you cut off the crown, and this is the same reasoning.

When potting up, the lower three-quarters of the potting medium should be ordinary potting medium, and it should have nutrients so that after the new shoots take root they can absorb nutrients as quickly as possible and avoid producing toothpick-thin seedlings. The upper quarter should be fine-grained Kanuma soil, the finer the better, and you can mix in some fine weathered rock dust, the purpose being to give the potting medium and the pseudobulb as large a contact surface as possible and to retain moisture. If the granules are too large, the potting medium and the pseudobulb only have point contact, and no matter how much you water, it cannot keep the pseudobulb moist.

After potting up, in this season put it in a sunny, wind-sheltered place and keep the pot surface moist, the purpose being to keep the pot soil temperature as high as possible and promote sprouting. In summer put it in a cool, ventilated place to prevent the sun from drying the seedlings intoorchidsdry, hehe.

A while ago I received a rootless Lijiang Snow orchid from a fellow orchid grower; treated this way, it sprouted in less than a month.

Potting situation

The little lives arrived as promised, o(∩_∩)o , and I will keep reporting the growth situation to my fellow orchid growers. Fellow orchid growers are welcome to discuss it together.
