New college-graduate village officials complete pre-job warm-up through a three-step approach
To help newly recruited college-graduate village officials quickly become familiar with rural work and promptly change roles and get into the swing of things, Siyang County, Jiangsu Province, adopted a combination of special training, on-site observation and discussion exchanges to conduct a 2-day training for 30 college-graduate village officials who took up posts in villages (communities) in 2014.
To ensure the training's effectiveness, the County Party Committee Organization Department drew personnel from the County Agriculture and Industry Office, the Entrepreneurship Office and the County Party School to serve as instructors, and held special lectures on village-level economic development and management practice, entrepreneurs' starting out and reflections, and working strategies and methods for grassroots rural cadres, so that the new college-graduate village officials improved their policy and theoretical literacy through the special training. At the same time, the college-graduate village officials were organized to visit and study at production bases and enterprises such as the Jinxiu Vegetable Planting Base in Chengxiang Subdistrict, Minfu Agriculture in Sanzhuang Township, Kunqi Grape Planting Professional Cooperative, and Yanghe Packaging and Logistics Park, so that the new college-graduate village officials strengthened their confidence and determination to build a new countryside through on-site observation.
