Flooding in parts of the Huang-Huai region leaves some farmland submerged

From September 26 to 28, heavy rainfall occurred in parts of the Huang-Huai region, with 50-150 mm of rain in northwestern Hubei, southern and northern Henan, and northern Anhui, among other places; in parts of Shennongjia and Zaoyang in Hubei, southeastern Henan, and northern Anhui, rainfall reached 160-220 mm, triggering floods that left some farmland submerged and caused houses to collapse or be damaged.

As of 9:00 on September 29, statistics by province are as follows:

According to a report from the Anhui Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, 810,000 people were affected in Lixin County, Bozhou City; more than 200 houses were damaged; 70 thousand hectares of crops were affected; and direct economic losses exceeded 74 million yuan.

According to a report from the Henan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, 47,000 people were affected in Tongbai County, Nanyang City, and Runan County, Zhumadian City; more than 1,500 people were urgently relocated; more than 100 houses collapsed; 3.8 thousand hectares of crops were affected, of which 2 thousand hectares had no harvest at all; and direct economic losses were nearly 71 million yuan.

According to a report from the Hubei Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, 68,000 people were affected in Zhushan County, Yunxi County, and Zhuxi County, Shiyan City; more than 300 people were urgently relocated; more than 100 houses collapsed and more than 300 were damaged; 5.1 thousand hectares of crops were affected, of which more than 100 hectares had no harvest at all; and direct economic losses exceeded 22 million yuan.
