Agricultural product processing industry relies on scientific and technological innovation to drive development and seize the commanding heights of science and technology
Website news: On October 15, jointly hosted by the Agricultural Product Processing Bureau (Township and Village Enterprise Bureau) of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Agriculture, and organized by the Institute of Agricultural Product Processing of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the national agricultural product processing scientific and technological innovation and promotion event was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi. On site, 168 technology cooperation intentions were reached, technology achievement transfers amounted to 739 million yuan, and on-site contracts were signed worth 356 million yuan. Among these, the Institute of Agricultural Product Processing of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences reached 18 cooperation intentions, with a contract amount exceeding 100 million yuan.
Zong Jinyao, Director of the Agricultural Product Processing Bureau (Township and Village Enterprise Bureau) of the Ministry of Agriculture, pointed out in his speech that implementing scientific and technological innovation-driven development in agricultural product processing is a decisive force for enhancing industrial competitiveness, an inevitable choice for promoting industrial transformation and development, a foundational support for safeguarding food security and effective supply, and an effective channel for promoting agricultural efficiency and increasing farmers' income. At present, China's agricultural product processing industry is shifting from a stage of rapid growth to a stage of quality improvement. Dai Xiaofeng, Director of the Institute of Agricultural Product Processing of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, stated that as one of the first pilot units to enter the National Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Project, it will closely focus on the strategic goal of building a “world-class research institute,” work closely and collaboratively with agricultural product processing research institutions nationwide, focus on fundamental, directional, overall, and forward-looking major issues affecting the development of China's agricultural product processing industry, strengthen strategic research and top-level design for scientific and technological innovation and industrial development in agricultural product processing, provide scientific basis and intellectual support for national macro decision-making, and make new and greater contributions to the healthy and rapid development of China's agricultural product processing industry and to realizing the processing dream and the Chinese Dream.
During the event, the Agricultural Product Processing Bureau (Township and Village Enterprise Bureau) of the Ministry of Agriculture released the top ten scientific and technological innovation and promotion achievements in agricultural product processing for 2014. Wang Qiang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Agricultural Product Processing of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, released the report on scientific and technological innovation and development in agricultural product processing. The national agricultural product processing institute directors' fellowship meeting held concurrently also conducted in-depth discussions on matters related to preparing to establish an agricultural science and technology innovation alliance and carrying out “13th Five-Year Plan” development strategy research.
