National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index rises and falls on October 21, 2014

According to monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, on October 21 the “National Agricultural Wholesale Price Index” was 199.46, down 0.62 points from yesterday, among which the “Vegetable Basket” Product Wholesale Price Index was 200.09, down 0.70 points from yesterday.

As of 14:00 today, the average price of pork at the national agricultural wholesale market was 19.53 yuan/kg (the pork wholesale price index was 172.17), unchanged from yesterday;

Beef 54.44 yuan/kg, down 0.5% from yesterday;

Mutton 55.14 yuan/kg, down 0.2% from yesterday;

Eggs 10.54 yuan/kg, up 0.4% from yesterday;

Dressed chicken 15.34 yuan/kg, down 1.5% from yesterday.

The average price of the 28 vegetables under key monitoring was 3.49 yuan/kg (the vegetable wholesale price index was 178.82), down 0.6% from yesterday;

The average price of the 7 fruits under key monitoring was 5.48 yuan/kg, up 1.3% from yesterday.

The average price of crucian carp was 14.66 yuan/kg, up 1.4% from yesterday;

Common carp 12.10 yuan/kg, down 0.7% from yesterday;

Silver carp 6.95 yuan/kg, up 1.0% from yesterday;

Large hairtail 27.79 yuan/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

Today, among the 60 varieties under key monitoring at the domestic fresh agricultural product wholesale market, the top five price increases compared with yesterday were: pineapple, watermelon, eggplant, Kyoho grape and cowpea, with increases of 2.9%, 2.7%, 2.5%, 2.3% and 1.9% respectively; the top five price decreases were: lettuce, oyster mushroom, onion, shiitake mushroom and celery, with decreases of 3.2%, 2.9%, 2.4%, 2.4% and 2.1% respectively.
