Exploring New Paths for Agricultural Broadcasting Services
On October 28, China National Radio's China Country Voice invited heads of 24 county (city) radio stations to gather in Beijing to jointly discuss how to establish a cooperation mechanism, promote the development of agricultural broadcasting, better serve the construction of China's rural public cultural service system, and more effectively serve "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" and benefit farmers.
As China's first public-welfare, targeted and comprehensive agricultural radio frequency covering the whole country, China National Radio's China Country Voice takes "based on public welfare, serving agriculture, rural areas and farmers" as its fundamental starting point, and carries no commercial advertising. Through the broadcasting network of county (city)-level FM stations and rural loudspeakers, it provides local farmers with all-round news and information, agriculture-related policies, agricultural science and technology, market information, legal rights protection, and emotional and cultural services.
County-level radio stations are at the grassroots level, closest to farmers and most familiar with grassroots conditions, and shoulder the role of a bridge and hub connecting the central, provincial and municipal levels with grassroots rural areas. But for a long time, affected by multiple factors, and their local and localized characteristics, county-level stations have had few business contacts and poor exchange platforms among themselves, and county-level broadcasting faces difficulties and problems such as narrow room for survival, lack of program production teams, and programs that do not meet audience needs.
Through this seminar, China National Radio's China Country Voice and county (city) radio stations across the country jointly exchanged and discussed cooperation and development paths, intending through cooperation to build a platform of complementary advantages and shared resources, to mobilize to the greatest extent the nationwide agricultural broadcasting editing, reporting and broadcasting resources, and to jointly build a new platform for the Party and government's "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" publicity and rural public cultural services.
